CoffeeandConversation
Host: Didsbury Historical Society
Description: Volunteers with the Didsbury and District Historical Society are all about having fun and love to host events and activities throughout the year that help us honour our Vision, which is to celebrate our heritage through interactive adventure and learning experiences. Held the third Wednesday of the month, Coffee and Conversation is one of the most popular monthly events in Didsbury, as people gather at the museum to visit with each other, and to learn about the history of our town, and the individuals who have made our county so rich and beautiful. Calling all green thumbs out there! It's the season for getting all the gardening tips you can handle! Join "radical gardener", Melissa Boucher, to learn about gardening on the cheap, soil nourishment, composting, greenhouse tips, water collection, living water systems, vermiculture, and community gardens. A whack of info for all you green thumbs!! Melissa Boucher has lived in Didsbury for nearly 15 years with her husband Phil. Together they are raising two young girls. Melissa is a Social Worker, but recently decided on a different pace of life, and she and her family have been running the Rosebud Valley Campground in town for 5 seasons now. Melissa also does some consulting, teaches children art and music, is a small time blogger, and an avid gardener. On this day, we are also hosting a "Plant and Seed Swap" from 12 noon on. If you have some extra seeds from a favourite plant, or need to split some bulbs, bring them along. Or maybe you have a plant you no longer want, indoor or outdoor, all plants, seeds and bulbs are welcome! Everyone is welcome to come, chat, enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of iced tea, and explore the Museum. This is a free event, but donations to the Museum are gratefully accepted, as they do help us "keep the lights on".
