Ellen Froese Concert
Host: Olds Town Square
Description: Hailing from a dairy farm in the heart of Saskatchewan, young folk singer Ellen Froese is swiftly making her presence known in the Canadian music scene. Whether performing a folk traditional, a rock n roll classic with her full band, or her own compositions, Froese handles it with an air of authenticity - all tempered with a healthy dose of humour and self-deprecation. The last couple of years have brought main stage slots at festivals like Regina Folk Fest, and a European tour through Germany's Devilduck Records. With her full band in tow, Froese will be taking the road for the month of November in support of the new album, with shows around Canada. Her back up band, The Hot Toddies, features Dylan Copper on drums, Matt Joyal on electric guitar, and Emmett Fortosky on bass. Together they are a versatile group, with each of the members specializing in hard rock, rockabilly, and jazz respectively. Mixed with Froese's folk background, they create a unique show that easily combines 70s pop ballads, rockabilly country, 60s folk, awkward stage banter and costumes - every show is a surprise! Advance tickets $10 / At the door $15 Doors open at 7:00 / Show at 7:30 pm. Kombucha and coffee available for purchase.
Location: Olds Town Square, 5105 50th Avenue - 7 - 10 pm
